In the other World Cup warm up matches yesterday, results didn't go as planned for all involved. Here we will take a look at the results.
First up and to the not so lucky Irish. I say not so lucky because if it wasn't for some very bad luck and a cheating Frenchman, they could very well be preparing for the World Cup, but they did their country proud yesterday after beating Group F hopefuls Paraguay 2-1.
Irish eyes were smiling yesterday but the eyes of Cameroon and Nigeria supporters were very likely crying tears. Cameroon couldn't beat Georgia in Salzburg, a country that I could play for and Nigeria couldn't beat Saudi Arabia.
Both countries will hope to do better in the actual World Cup - however at this stage, with the World Cup just over two weeks away, you just have to be happy you are not playing like the USA - getting beaten at home 4-2 by the Czech Republic - a team that didn't even make the World Cup!
There was a match from yesterday with two teams going to the World Cup that had some goals though; Greece drew 2-2 with North Korea. It was a tense affair but both teams will find positives. Greece going ahead twice and North Korea fighting back twice.
Greece are in Group B along with Nigeria, Korea Republic and Argentina while North Korea are in Group G alongside tournament favourites Brazil, Ivory Coast and tournament flops, did I just predict the future, Portugal.
