World Cup 2010 Day 15: Mini news round-up

Before we get started, today marks the end of group football at the World Cup and as of tomorrow it starts to get extremely serious.

There are no second chances and this is when we see players become men and men become winners and in sixteen days we will know who those winners are.

Then we begin the wait for Brazil, which is a long time and probably as long as we will have to wait for another apology from Franz Beckenbauer after he says something derogatory about the way England play football again.

We write that because he has apologised for comments made about the England team over the last couple of weeks, but we should also write that we aren't going to comment further about his apology. We are going to let England do our talking for us, on the pitch, which is where it should be done and not by former players, no matter how good.

Mozzarella

Italian newspaper Tutto Sport have compared the national side to mozzarella cheese and while we are not definitely sure why, we are going to assume it has something to do with past their sell by date.

As mentioned above all group games are now finished and we know who is in the knock-out stages and you can see all group tables here and see who finished first and second but for those wanting to know what football is coming this weekend, you will find that below.
