Three more qualified for 2010 World Cup last night: England, Spain and Paraguay

Three more teams booked their tickets to the 2010 World Cup last night. England beat Croatia 5-1 at Wembley, with a performance that will get the British press convinced they can the event. Spain beat Estonia 3-0 and Paraguay are confirmed after beating Argentina 1-0.

There are lots of talking points from the football last night but mostly it is focused on three things; how England dominated, how Argentina might not make the World Cup for the first time since 1970 and how Spain are looking just as good as they were last year and how they must be the European favourites.

But all that doesn't matter right now. A lot can happen between now the start of the event next year so nothing should be taken for granted by any of the teams and I still fancy Argentina will make it but Spain and England both have a 100% record in qualifying, which much inspire confidence.

Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino
In the national team, you work for two possibilities - you can work for having a job or for making history. I want to work for the second option.
Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas
This goal is very important for me, especially for the confidence it gives me. It's a pleasure to play with these players and in front of these fans. Eight wins out of eight, not many countries can say that.
England coach Fabio Capello
I think this was the best performance under me. We played fast, pressed the ball and our movement was fantastic.
