We have two football matches left then I don't know about you lot, but we are taking a few days off and plan on finding a beach somewhere to soak up some sun before we open Footballocracy - our new website we will be running until 2014 and the next World Cup.

The first of those two matches is on Saturday when Germany will play Uruguay in the third place match. This has got to be one of the hardest matches to get yourself up for after coming so close to a World Cup final.

We think it will be interesting to watch and we think we might see a few new faces - it will certainly be interesting to see which team Paul the octopus picks.

Maradona

We had hopes for Argentina - mostly because of the quality they had in the squad and because we hoped Messi was going to light up the tournament but it wasn't to be but both Messi and Maradona have time and judging by what people are saying in Argentina about the former World Cup winner - he can do no wrong.

There is even talk of a statue getting erected for him and Argentina Football Association president Julio Grondona has as good as said that Maradona can decide if he wants to stay in the job or not.

Maradona is the only person in the country who can do whatever he wants. He still has a contract with us, so it's up to him.

Shakira Shakira

Lastly today - it has been confirmed that Shakira will play at the closing ceremony for the 2010 World Cup. The closing ceremony takes place on July 11th and will be more "youthful and a bit more technologically advanced" than the opening ceremony.
