Queens Park Rangers midfielder Akos Buzsaky believes that there will be no such thing as an “easy game” in the World Cup, and that England’s Group C opponents are more than capable of causing an upset in South Africa.

England face the USA, Algeria and Slovenia in the Group stage of the tournament and Buzsaky does not believe that England have an easier group than other countries, claiming that the Three Lions’ qualification to the next round will be much harder than people imagine.

The 27-year-old played in Portugal for three years, and despite being drawn in the challenging Group F with Brazil, North Korea and Ivory Coast, Buzsaky does not believes that Portugal face a tougher task than England, and that every team in South Africa will be desperate to ensure they qualify for the knock-out stages.

Having missed out on World Cup qualification with Hungary, the international midfielder will be watching the tournament at home this year, but Buzsaky is confident there will be one or two upsets to keep people guessing right to the end in South Africa.

“The World Cup is far different to any other football competition in the world,” said Buzsaky. “There are no easy games, if you look at England’s group people think it is easy, but it will be very hard for them.

“All the teams who will play in South Africa have had to qualify from tough groups to get to the World Cup and they will want to get as far as they can, every team will be a challenge and there will always be one or two upsets.”

Buzsaky is confident that England can qualify from Group C if they approach each game with the right attitude, and believes that the players in the national side have enough experience of winning trophies in this country to be able to emerge victorious in South Africa.

“England are in with a good chance, they have a very good team, and a very good manager. They have a lot of very good players, but Wayne Rooney is in the best form out of any striker in the country, and everybody in England wants to see him score goals in the World Cup.

“The football is much better in England than in other countries, the standard is higher and the top teams always have the right attitude going into games, which they will need to have in South Africa.

“It is much harder to win championships here, and many of the England team have experience of winning finals and lifting trophies, which could be essential experience if England reach the final stages of the World Cup.”
