When you get to the quarter finals of any tournament you start to get the better sides and you don't get that many better than these two and these two will give us a good game.
It might not be the most open game but for all round football, I think it will be great and with the quality in both these teams we should see a winner in ninety minutes and if we don't, that will be very interesting in itself - especially if we don't see any goals.
Match Details
- Venue: Port Elizabeth
- Date: Friday, 2 July 2010
- Kick-off: 4.00pm
Netherlands
If you had asked me at the start of the World Cup if I had a team I thought might surprise us, it would have been the Dutch and while I don't think they have really surprised anyone yet - I think they can on Friday.
The surprise will be that they beat the favourites but anyone beating Brazil would be a surprise but I think it is possible because I am not convinced Brazil will win it this year, I think someone is going to put in a performance that shocks Brazil.
Brazil
After I've written what I have above, Brazil will go on and win the tournament and if someone beating them is a surprise, then Brazil winning the World Cup shouldn't be, but maybe it should be.
They didn't win the last one or the one before - so we have hope that they won't win this time round. Hope is not the right word and there is no doubt that Brazil are a fantastic side but every time they go out and win, it is just one step closer and I hate that football appears so predictable these days.
Opposition View
Dutch football legend, Johan Cruyff
Where is the Brazilian magic? I could understand why Dunga has picked some players but where is the playmaker or skill in midfield? I don't think any spectator would pay to watch them. I would never pay for a ticket.
Brazil winger, Robinho
My only goal is to help Brazil win the world title. It’s going to be a difficult match against the Netherlands, but I’m confident and we are prepared.
Prediction
As we will be having a bet on this game we are going to put our fiver on Brazil and you know what, we think it is safe. Brazil look like they could get better and history tells us that the Dutch will fail.
It isn't so much that they fail - it is that they fail to live up to expectations and for that reason alone, you have to fancy Brazil will win, because they way they all play football is something they have done form day one - it works, they know it and they do it so well.
Dunga might have changed the approach, but the football and the awareness is still the same and you can't teach what some of these players for Brazil know and that is why they will probably win.
