The Dutch were good for their 2-1 victory over Cameroon but they had gears to move into if they really wanted too and Cameroon were poor, yet again, but we were not surprised by it this time.
One thing that did surprise us was the manner in which Japan brushed aside Denmark - a team we fancied would get through at the beginning of the day. We take it all back.
The Dutch will now play Slovakia in the last sixteen knock-out stage and they will fancy themselves while Japan will play Paraguay and I will fancy Japan to get something from that game and I'm going to pay particular attention to a certain centre forward by the name of Honda when they do play - he looked very good.
Match reports later - but we are almost done with the Group stages of the 2010 World Cup - one more day of games left and then to the serious business of win or lose. Getting excited?
