A number of FIFA representatives have arrived in South Africa for a stadium tour and a series of meetings with key figures of the 2010 World Cup organising committee.

The group includes FIFA competitions division director Jim Brown, head of media operations Alain Leiblang, head of FIFA's South African 2010 World Cup office, Michael Palmer and and Horst Schmidt, FIFA's co-ordinator in South Africa.

The visitors have a strong security team following them everywhere and there will not be any opportunity for the press pack to ask any questions.

The three main talking points are going crime, stadiums and transport. South Africa are ahead of Germany at the same stage of their developments for the 2006 World Cup but crime and transport remain a concern for FIFA and they are seeking assurances that it will be under control by 2010.

The delegation will be leaving on Friday to report back to FIFA headquarters with news of the trip.
