England v Mexico: World Cup 2010 friendly

Two teams that will both believe they can achieve something special at the World Cup this year play each other tonight. Mexico are in England and Wembley awaits. Both teams will also want to win so it should make for an interesting match.

In his mind, Capello knows the players he will be taking to South Africa, but he will wait until the last possible moment before submitting his list of 23 names to FIFA and he is also leaving five players in Austria at the World Cup training camp but he will want to win tonight.

"The Chelsea players and David James will not play against Mexico," Capello said. "I needed them to train and stay with us. I also needed to check their physical situation so these five players won't play."

Talking about the 23 man squad Capello also said: "In my mind I more or less know the names of the 23 players who will be with me in South Africa. But we have to wait because you never know whether someone gets injured."

Either way, the 80,000 plus England fans inside Wembley tonight will want to see a convincing victory before sending off their players and it will be something the players want also. Kick off is 8pm UK time if you happen to find yourself near a TV.

Bet of the day

I should warn you that this bet of the day thing isn't going to become a regular feature but you will get 6/1 at Expekt on a Mexico win right here. Now, England score for fun at Wembley, but Capello isn't going to risk anyone tonight and 6/1 for a team fancied to make it past the group stage of the World Cup is a pretty good price.
