England confirmed a place in the last 16 with goals from Peter Crouch and Steven Gerrard against a Trinidad and Tobago side that did themselves proud.
The game woke up for England when Lennon came on for Carragher in the 58th minute. The Spurs player changed the game and brought a new dimension to the right; something we've lacked for a few years with Beckham. The goals came from Crouch in the 83rd and Gerrard in the 90th.
England won with a fairly convincing scoreline but it wasn't a fair reflection which could be raising concerns in the England camp this morning but one bright thing for the England squad will be the return of Rooney who played for the last 30 minutes and looks like all is well.
Sweden also left it late to beat Paraguay. Freddie Ljungberg scored with a couple of minutes to go and moved Sweden to second in the group.
A draw for them against England on the 20th will be enough to see them through but the result of the Germany Ecuador game earlier in the day will probably determine the Sweden England result.
Sweden deserved the result and Kallstrom in for Anders Svensson proved to be a catalyst for some of Sweden's best football. They could have won by a few but just got unlucky.
