Switzerland will consider themselves unlucky to have not beaten Italy yesterday and Italy will likely be scratching their heads wondering what is going on; they just don't seem to be able to do anything right at the moment.
The game ended 1-1 but on chances it should have been a victory for Switzerland. The Italians however will like this result; in warm up matches against the Swiss in 1982 and 2006, two World Cups Italy won, they also drew 1-1 with the Swiss.
Italy really won't care about the draw as they will know it is mostly about the results in the actual World Cup, but Switzerland should be happy and they will take heart from it as they are in one of the groups where anyone could get through.
Switzerland when ahead with a long range effort from Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler, but Italy quickly responded and Napoli striker Fabio Quagliarella headed in to level things up.
Switzerland open their Group H campaign against Spain and then have Chile and Honduras, both matches they should win on this performance.
