That was a good game. The result was as predicted but that match wasn't. The first half was very good with Chile attacking as soon as they got the ball - no waiting around and Honduras countered well - a joy to watch. Can I have some more please?
The second half started a little slower but that was to be expected as Chile were 1-0 and they were not going to play the same way when they had what they needed - but they didn't give up completely and that was refreshing.

This is another one of those matches that we were not really looking forward to when the fixtures came out - but we are quite looking forward to now.
You see, we are going to be surprised soon. If we had lost all of our fingers and only the thumb remained on our left hand, we could count the games on one hand in this World Cup that were really very good, but we know more are coming. We hope they are today.

Honduras striker David Suazo is a doubt for his country's first game at the World Cup against Chile on Wednesday as he is struggling with a muscle injury.
"My recovery is coming along well," said Suazo. "Today [Saturday] I trained with my team-mates and each day I feel better.

The team doctors for the Spanish team have dropped the biggest hint yet that Fernando Torres could make a surprise appearance in the warm up match against Poland tonight at the Nueva Condomina stadium in Murcia today.
The doctors, Oscar Celada and Juan Cota, say that treatment has gone as planned, and that everyone is happy. The player has said he feels more comfortable and has more stability on the knee which is still supported.Monday, 07 June 2010 12:06
Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios is the only doubt for Honduras ahead of the World Cup, although he is expected to be fit for the opening game against Chile on June 16th.
Media outlets in Honduras are reporting that he picked up a leg muscle injury at the weekend in the warm up match against Romania in Austria that they lost 3-0.

If this is the squad that Honduras are submitting for the preliminary squad list today, then barring serious injury, this will be the squad that Honduras will be taking to South Africa as they have to take 23 players.
Wigan and Spurs fans will not be surprised to see Wilson Palacios, Maynor Figueroa and Hendry Thomas included but the sad news is that there is no space for striker Carlos Costly as he has broken his foot.

Honduras striker Carlos Pavon has said that the Central American outsiders would be looking to make life as tough as possible for their World Cup 2010 Group H rivals this year in South Africa.
Honduras are matched against Spain, Chile and Switzerland and they are expected to struggle. However, last time they played in a World Cup final, in 1982, they surprised a few and they hope to be able to do the same again.
