We don't know if this was a bad game or if Ivory Coast and Portugal just cancelled each other out. For now we are going with the latter, because that is what we want to think about this game and these two teams, but we had hoped for something a little more exciting.
It really was nothing special and the game really had no significant moments. There was quite a bit of falling over if you went near someone and quite a few empty seats, but nothing with the football that made you want to watch the game again.
Drogba didn't start but when he came on, with 25 minutes to go, he got a rousing welcome and for a moment we all thought the game was going turn into something and for a moment, a brief moment when he was played in, I thought we were going to see it but he didn't quite get the touch he wanted and it didn't quite go the way we hoped.
That moment and one quite early on, a shot from Ronaldo, was about it and while we don't expect it to happen, if North Korea beat Brazil tonight, these two teams would be going home and on the football I saw today, they'd deserve it.
And I just want to get this in now; if any of these professional football players start blaming the vuvuzela they can go take an early bath - it is no excuse.
