New Zealand goalscorer Winston Reid was born in New Zealand but moved to Denmark when he was ten and has represented Denmark at Under-21 level but he is now convinced he made the right decision by picking New Zealand over his adopted home at full international level.
"For a long time I have been torn between the two countries. I was asking myself if I was a Kiwi or a Dane," said Reid, who could have been playing for Denmark in Group E.
"This is the biggest stage in the world for football and that has to be the most important goal of my life."
New Zealand are in Group F and face Italy and then Paraguay in the next two matches after which Reid might be wishing he picked Denmark for the World Cup.
