We here fancy the Netherlands to surprise a few people in the World Cup and we expect them to be spending a lot of time in South Africa and we certainly expect them to qualify.

That opinion was confirmed when we watched them beat fellow World Cup contenders Ghana 4-1 on Tuesday at a canter - they could have scored a few more and while it was a warm up match - you'd be mad to be putting money on Ghana to get past the group stage on that performance.

Dirk Kuyt opened the scoring after half-an-hour after Robin ban Persie had his shot blocked by keeper Richard Kingson and while it took the Netherlands a while to get into gear, they scored three in the last twenty minutes.

After Kuyt came Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder and van Persie from the penalty spot. Don't put your house on the Dutch, but also don't be surprised if they do better than many think.
