We are as surprised as the next man with the way in which Germany brushed aside Argentina yesterday but the German press seem to be getting a little confident and that is never a good thing.
German newspaper Welt are making comparisons between Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lionel Messi following Germany's 4-0 World Cup quarter-final victory over Argentina.
"Better than Messi: Schweinsteiger completes his masterpiece," the paper published, adding that it was his "best game of the World Cup".
We are all for getting carried away and we quite like the way Germany have gone about this World Cup and since Argentina are now out, our favourites to win the tournament before the match yesterday - we are now hoping that Germany win - that performance yesterday deserves it.
