Germany have announced their final World Cup 2010 squad and defender Andreas Beck is the surprise name to not make it and German hopes that Michael Ballack would were dashed as the names were released.
Germany lost Michael Ballack after the tackle in the FA Cup final and have also lost midfielders Christian Traesch and Simon Rolfes to injuries as well as first choice keeper Rene Adler because of a rib injury.
So, Germany now take six strikers to the World Cup - not a typical German tactic but when all else fails, try something new.
Germany are in Group D up against Australia, Serbia and Ghana.
