That was a great match to watch and further proof that the World Cup is going to get better and better. By the end of the match, the United States were a little unlucky not to have won, although a draw is a fair result.

Slovenia went two up courtesy of goals from Valter Birsa in the 13th minute and Zlatan Ljubijankic in the 42nd and at half time, probably thought they had won. I thought they had.

But you can never discount that US resilience and they didn't disappoint today and now, Group C is interesting again.

Just after the break Landon Donovan breaks down the right and takes the ball into the box, instead of crossing he looks up and shoots - into the roof of the net the ball goes and you can see the belief hit every player smack in the face.

Then, after non-stop running and chasing and with the clock showing just eight minutes left the ball is played high into the box. Jozy Altidore heads it down and running into the box is Michael Bradley who gets to it just in time to fire it in.

Two each and some American supporters are crying and I can understand why - they were going out.

Then, just moments before full time they put the ball in the net but it is cruelly, in our opinion, ruled offside.

But, a fantastic game and it keeps the United States in the hunt. What more can they ask for?
