Wayne Rooney doesn't care about the supporters. He showed that last night. Sure, he can issue a statement apologising, but that is done the day after the night before when, without anyone around him to tell him what to say and when to say it, he spoke his own mind.
Last night, Wayne Rooney stuck two fingers up at thousands of England supporters that travelled to South Africa to support England and today those England supporters get an apology.
"I am as passionate about the England team as anyone. Last night, on reflection I said things in the heat of the moment that came out of frustration of both our performance and the result," somebody wrote on behalf of Rooney as a press statement, passing it off as something Rooney himself said.
"The most important thing now is to regroup be positive and work towards winning the game on Wednesday. To do this the players will need the support of the fans more than ever."For my part I apologise for any offence caused by my actions at the end of the game."
Apology accepted Wayne but we know what you really said and we also know what you didn't say.
