Confirmed: England squad for 2010 World Cup

I am sure the English FA do it for the publicity because you could have put money on this squad getting leaked before they announced it and it is the squad that most had predicted after the leaks hit the internet, but here it is confirmed.

We say confirmed, but we still don't know the shirt numbers, but does it really matter? Does it matter that they are probably the most well known team in the World but they will still have their names on the back, although we should also say that that is mostly for them - who said footballers were stupid!

So, the squad is below, no team names for these players, but the surprise omission is Theo Walcott who has released a statement: "I am very disappointed not to be included in the squad going out to South Africa, but completely respect Mr Capello's decision. I would like to wish the team the best of luck and hope they have a really successful tournament."

Also no surprises on how Fabio Capello has picked his outfield players; two for every position. The Italian way.
