A big World Cup day today if your name is Ledley King. After coming off against the United States at the weekend with a groin injury, the player was sent for a scan and the results are due in this afternoon.
His manager at Spurs however doesn't think the news is going to be good. "I spoke to our physio last night, Wayne Diesel. Wayne is out in South Africa, he's gone over there to be around the England camp." Redknapp told talkSPORT this morning.
"I don't think we'll see Ledley again if he's struggling to play. They are getting the result back from the scan today, but if there's a tear in the groin that would make it difficult for him."
"That's the problem for him, when you don't train and have to play at that top, top class level you're going to pick up injuries."
It will be sad news for the player but England do have two other central defenders to call on and while Jamie Carragher appeared to get the nod of approval by replacing King at the weekend, his Spurs team mate Michael Dawson has every opportunity too.
