In a few hours time, England play Algeria and after comments made by Fabio Capello, the smart money is on Robert Green keeping his place. We don't think there was ever any doubt.

"Everyone can make mistakes, a goalkeeper, defender, a midfielder or a forward. Every player that makes a mistake deserves a second chance," Capello said, without naming Green. "I judge a player on his quality and not on his mistakes."

To us, that is Capello confirming he made the right decision in the first place and while we don't necessarily have an opinion on who is the best keeper for England, he does and it appears it is Robert Green.

In more team news, Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry will start. "Gareth will play this Friday. He is OK, there is no problem," Capello said. "He has trained very well and he is fit."

Capello will inform his 23 of the starting eleven two hours before the game but we suspect if Barry knows, Green probably does too.

This is the banker bet of the day. England will score for fun and this game has three points all over it and renewed confidence in the English press.
