We didn't know who was going to win this match but we thought someone would and we also think this has made this group very interesting. We also think that either the United States or England will be going home earlier than hoped after Slovenia beat Algeria in Polokwane today.
The game wasn't as good as we would have hoped and if it wasn't for a goalkeeping error it would have likely ended 0-0 but much like Robert Green found out last night - errors happen, even when you are as prepared as you can be.
The game was made a little easier for Slovenia when Ghezzal for Algeria was sent off in the 72nd minute for a deliberate hand ball and seven minutes later Slovenia took advantage.
Captain Robert Koren took a speculative shot from about 20 yards out and the ball bounced in front of Algerian keeper Faouzi Chaouchi and whipped past him.
This result puts Slovenia top of Group C and they will be full of confidence but no doubt they will not be getting carried away. Algeria are now bottom but they do have two games to play.
