We didn't know who was going to win this match but we thought someone would and we also think this has made this group very interesting. We also think that either the United States or England will be going home earlier than hoped after Slovenia beat Algeria in Polokwane today.
The game wasn't as good as we would have hoped and if it wasn't for a goalkeeping error it would have likely ended 0-0 but much like Robert Green found out last night - errors happen, even when you are as prepared as you can be.

This is going to be a good match and I'm going to be happily surprised that I cancelled my usual big Sunday lunch for it, because it is the unknown entities that usually do surprise on the big stage.
Look at yesterday and a great example is the England versus USA match. Were any of us really that surprised it was a draw? I wasn't and even wrote as much before the match here.

Algeria have named a preliminary squad for the 2010 World Cup, most of whom took part in the recent Africa Cup of Nations and head coach Rabbah Saadane has confirmed that he wanted to keep the backbone of the team that got through to the semi-final in Angola.
Algeria are in the same group as England, Slovenia and United States and are thought of by some as the dark horse of the group. They are currently third favourite to go through, but a good result against either England or the United States will make them a strong contender.

Algeria have changed venue of their World Cup training camp. They will now be based in the Swiss Alps after cancelling a stay in Italy. The decision was made for better altitude training, the Algerian Football Federation confirmed.
Algeria will now start preparations for the World Cup at Crans-Montana in Switzerland and plan on spending two weeks from May 13th at the resort.
