Argentina v Nigeria, World Cup Group B, Match 4

This is going to be an interesting game. One one side, you have the madness of Maradona and the genius that is Lionel Messi and on the other, you've got an African team that really should do well in familiar territory who will have a lot of local support.

And with both teams expected to progress from the group, I think it is going to make the game even more interesting, because I don't think both will.

You see, you can write off Greece, they won't make it past the group stages, but I fancy South Korea might surprise a few people and I think if they can get a good result this afternoon, which I expect them too, then all we need is Argentina or Nigeria to win, to make this group very interesting.

Prediction

I secretly think Argentina will have too much for Nigeria and I secretly think the scoreline could be three or four. I also secretly think that a lot rests on Messi and Tevez. It isn't that Argentina don't have quality players in almost every position two times over, they do, I just think these two players, if they play like they have done for their clubs this season, they could win the World Cup by themselves.

View from the Opposition

Argentina coach, Diego Maradona
Nigeria is a physically strong side capable of creating problems in attack. However, I think they are still a little disorganised in defence. That’s where we have to make the most of our potential.
Nigeria striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni
Messi is a good player and we respect him. We hope he respects us too. We’re not thinking about Messi, we’re thinking about playing Argentina, a good team.
