Arsenal boss tipping Argentina to win Group B

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is tipping Argentina to win Group B in South Africa and has remarked at how France were lucky to get to the World Cup finals, starting in six days.

He told Arsenal.com: "People will all be looking to Lionel Messi in the Argentina squad but they have got lots of good players in their squad.

Nigeria finally arrive in South Africa for World Cup

Nigeria have finally arrived in South Africa after getting delayed in England. The plane they chartered had problems, so they stated an extra day while alternative plans were made.

The Nigeria Football Federation issued an apology for the delay. "We apologize to the federal government and the good people of Nigeria for this charter company's failure," Bolaji Ojo-Oba of the Nigerian Football Federation said.

Greece name final 23-man World Cup 2010 squad

Greece manager Otto Rehhagel has named his final 23 man squad for the World Cup in South Africa and there are not really any surprises.

Greece are in Group B up against Argentina, Nigeria and Korea Republic and while they are not the favourites they should also not be written off and football pundits will be quick to remind you that they won the European Championships in 2004 and that that was a big surprise.

Final World Cup 23 man squad for Argentina

Argentina coach Diego Maradona named his final 23 man squad for the World Cup yesterday, which included almost everyone as expected but there was no place for Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti.

The surprise inclusion was that of defender Ariel Garce, who played his first international match for Argentina earlier this month in the 4-0 win against Haiti.

Greece name 30 man squad for World Cup 2010

Greece are the last team in Group B that we are putting 30 man preliminary squad lists together for. This list, while important, isn't the final list however. That will come on June 1st, but this does allow manager Otto Rehhagel time with these players to help him pick his preferred 23 for the World Cup in South Africa.

Greece are in Group B, up against Argentina, Nigeria and Korea Republic.

Maradona announces 30 man squad for World Cup 2010

Nigeria name 30 man World Cup 2010 squad

Nigeria manager Lars Lagerback has today named his 30 man provisional squad for the 2010 World Cup despite only being in the job since February.

Lagerback resigned as head coach for Sweden after failing to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa and he has taken his time before naming this squad to play in Group B in South Africa against Argentina, Greece and Korea Republic.

Former Fulham midfielder Seol Ki-Hyeon hopes to make preliminary squad for 2010 World Cup

Former Fulham midfielder Seol Ki-Hyeon has not given up hope of making the squad for the 2010 World Cup but he isn't rushing back or forcing his way back to fitness.

Seol, playing in Korea with Pohang, was an important member of Guus Hiddink's team that played in the 2002 World Cup on home soil and he believes he can still offer something if called upon.

World Cup 2010 not going to happen for Nedum Onuoha

Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha, who has represented England at U21 level will not be playing for Nigeria in South Africa this year as he isn't sure if he wants to swap allegiance and doesn't want to make the decision as quickly as Nigeria would like.

Onuoha was born in Nigeria but brought up in England and even though he has represented England at U21 level over 20 times, he could pick Nigeria over England at full international level and he could play be playing in South Africa at the World Cup in 50 days.
