I've read and heard a lot of complaining about the quality of football and lack of goals the last couple of days and I've even read and heard that people are not going to watch any more matches on TV if they have to hear the vuvuzela.

Are these people football fans? You don't watch football for the sound and if the vuvuzela annoys you that much - lower the volume or mute the TV. You watch football for the football and you support your country because it is your country - not because they are playing without the vuvuzela.

About the quality of football and the number of goals; the competition has only just started. Give it time. Give it until the end of the second round of games and if you haven't seen enough goals, then complain.

Prediction

South Africa are our second team in this tournament but we don't think they are going to win tonight, so our office money is going on Uruguay as we think they will. Our view has changed on South Africa the last few days because we are not exactly sure they have an advantage. Yes, they are playing in their country - but apart from that, what else do they have?

Chances are they haven't played in these stadiums and what is to distinguish the blowing of the horns for them or the other team? The blowing might as well be for Uruguay tonight - it isn't helping South Africa and well, that is why they will lose tonight. Or that is why it is our prediction - they might not.

View from the Opposition

This is our World Cup and nobody can take that away from us but this game will be hard. We need to focus and believe we can win and visualise the goals - we need to see the goals happening.

Uruguay fan, Damiani
South Africa have home advantage but we will use that to our advantage. We believe we can win and that is half the battle.
