South Africa might have only drawn with Bulgaria last night but the football was crisp and the performance has surprised a few in football. Could it be that South Africa are now ready for the World Cup?

The World Cup hosts opened the scoring in the 20th minute but Bulgaria levelled things eleven minutes later. To quote Football365.co.za; "South Africa looked slick in possession and an improvement in their passing could once again be noted."

"There was a lot of improvement and you can see the team are making progress. We were not intimidated by them and we played very well in the first half," said Carlos Alberto Parreira.

"The second half was difficult because we made so many changes, but I had to give players a chance. I'm happy because this is the level we will face in the World Cup in terms of technique and I thought we dealt with them well. Now we need to work on the penetration more and getting the full-backs to attack, but we are starting to impose our style on other teams."

The World Cup starts in 16 days and South Africa will get better before playing Mexico in the opening game who lost to England yesterday.
