I'm a big fan of Mexican football and I always like to watch Mexico play. They always seem to come so close but always seem to lose it in the end. This World Cup promises to be a big one for them but how many times have we thought that about Mexico?
Javier Aguirre could have picked 30 players but he has made his mind up on who he really wants on the plane and is just a little undecided about a few so he only picked 26 players for the preliminary squad.
The Mexico squad of 23 players will be picked from the list below.
Goalkeepers: Oscar Perez (Chiapas), Guillermo Ochoa (America), Luis Ernesto Michel (Guadalajara).
Defenders: Rafael Marquez (Barcelona), Ricardo Osorio (VfB Stuttgart), Francisco Rodriguez, Carlos Salcido (both PSV Eindhoven), Hector Moreno (AZ Alkmaar), Paul Aguilar (Pachuca), Efrain Juarez (Pumas UNAM), Jonny Magallon (Guadalajara), Juan Carlos Valenzuela (America), Jorge Torres Nilo (Atlas), Adrian Aldrete (Morelia).
Midfielders: Andres Guardado (Deportivo Coruna), Jonathan dos Santos (Barcelona), Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul), Israel Castro (Pumas UNAM), Giovani dos Santos (Galatasaray).
Strikers: Pablo Barrera (Pumas UNAM), Adolfo Bautista, Alberto Medina (both Guadalajara), Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Veracruz), Carlos Vela (Arsenal), Javier Hernandez (Manchester United), Guillermo Franco (West Ham United).
