Most of us were watching South Africa beat France but we had to have this on in the corner and we forced someone to watch and we all took turns and we were not disappointed, it was end to end stuff, probably made better by South Africa going in at half time 2-0 and and against ten men, but that's just an observation.
Early on it was mostly all Uruguay but then Mexico came back into it and the half was fairly even, apart from the goal.
That came from the head of Luis Suarez and the cross of Edinson Cavani and it set up the second half perfectly and the second half didn't disappoint.
It was end to end stuff and fun to watch every now and then and both of these side could do well.
Last Sixteen
As Uruguay won the group they will play whoever comes second in Group B and because Mexico came second they will be playing Argentina unless something very wrong happens tonight.
We find it hard to see past Argentina at the moment but there is always a chance for Mexico - it isn't much of a chance, but still a chance.
We will be back at 8pm just in time for the other two matches. Well done to Uruguay and Mexico - you deserved it.
