All tickets for the event will be sold by FIFA on their website. We expect further information in 2008 and the registration process to start sometime in 2009. As and when we have further information we will let you know.

Rest assured FIFA will give everyone plenty of time to register an interest so you won't lose out but there are no guarantees you will get a ticket.

The cost per ticket is yet to be confirmed but the average cost per ticket will be $139.

The average match ticket price will be $139. This compares to $136 for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

However, there is a new category of ticket for this tournament just for South African residents. This category will represent 15% of all tickets for the 2010 World Cup, some 450,000 tickets, and will cost the equivalent of $20 but will be listed in South African Rand.

South Africans will also be able to purchase tickets from the other categories but these prices will be in US dollars.

While the competition has already begun for so many countries the actual event in South Africa isn't until 2010.

The opening ceremony for the 2010 World Cup will happen on June 11th 2010 and the final match will be on July 11th 2010.

No it isn't. There is www.fifa.com for FIFA and the World Cup is their tournament. The Local Organising Committee for the World Cup have had a website but it's gone. As soon as a new one becomes available we will provide you with an address here.
