World football governing body FIFA has thrown a spanner in the works of the SA 2010 preparatory committee by refusing to endorse their proposed organogram. Since the fiasco of the Korea/Japan showpiece, FIFA have made it clear that they would be hands-on in the running of future World Cup events and not leave it to host nations. The Japan/Korea cup was widely deemed to be chaotic, incurring huge financial losses. FIFA wants capable individuals with international track records to be in charge of South Africa 2010.
The World Cup is a FIFA event and nations host it on behalf of the Zurich-based organisation. Meanwhile to view the Kessle Feinsten Grant Thornton's report of the 2010 World Cup Economic Impact click here. |
