Port Elizabeth host city
Port Elizabeth

Port Elizabeth are the first host city of the 2010 World Cup to launch their official website and you know what, it's actually quite nice and very informative.

The site is packed with lots of information for visitors to Port Elizabeth and if you're going to South Africa it's one place you must visit and visit by road, not air, if you get the opportunity.

To visit the website click here.

When South Africa won the World Cup part of the agreement was that all host cities, much like Germany in 2006, had to set up and maintain their own website. The purpose is to provide local information to visitors and to keep the community up to date with local news.

This website does that and if you don't find what you're looking for they also have a contact page where you can send in your questions.

There are maps, information on fun parks, links for accommodation, travel, safety and pretty much everything you will need if you've visiting Port Elizabeth.

Nelson Mandela Bay 2010 director Errol Heyns is fully aware of the potential and is asking peopel to get involved “Today‘s launch is the start of a full-blown marketing campaign which will assist people in looking up the latest with regard to the tournaments.

“Everyone in the city needs to own the website – become its disciples and ensure we all add value to it.”

Like I've said, Port Elizabeth is a beautiful place and getting their by road is part of the experience as you'll see some of the most amazing landscapes and countryside you're ever likely to see.

The website is here.
