Tumi Makgabo quits 2010 Local Organising Committee PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 01 March 2008

Tumi Makgabo has quit her position at the 2010 LOC (Local Organising Committee) as head of communications and international relations.

This follows the resignation two weeks ago of head of marketing, Tim Modise and a number of rumours of growing tension between a number of people and Danny Jordaan, CEO of the local organising committee.

The World Cup begins in a little over two years, qualifying is under way and stadiums are in development - the organising committee do not need these continued rumours of in house problems.

Makgabo is a former SABC and CNN newsreader and will no doubt have offers but don't expect us to ever find out the real reasons why she left - although the old old saying of 'no smoke without fire' is probably going to be used quite a bit surrounding Danny Jordaan.
