Johannesburg to host 5,000 journalists during 2010 World Cup PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 14 August 2007

Johannesburg has won the battle to play temporary home to over 5,000 journalists attending the World Cup in 2010.

While Cape Town seem to think they still have a chance it looks certain that it is Johannesburg as FIFA are merely rubber stamping the decision.

The cabinet has approved the 2010 organising committee's decision to locate the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) in Johannesburg. Hosting the IBC has been a hard fought battle between Johannesburg and Cape Town, with up to R1-billion up for grabs for whoever gets it.

Roll on 2010!
