German legend Franz Beckenbauer this week claimed that the 2010 tournament was "beset by big problems" and Danny Jordaan has wasted no time coming out and talking to the press.
You've got to love Danny Jordaan, as he's going to 'write him a letter' to find out what the problems are. Mr Jordaan, we have telephones and emails and quite frankly everyone knows what the problems are but he was also quick to point out that "We have the stadia, the infrastructure is in place and we also have the backing of FIFA and the government,"
"All of us will be working towards the success of the tournament." Jordaan finished.
Maybe Mr Jordaan is seeing into the future because I can't see the stadia he talks about and the infrastructure certainly isn't in place. It might be for the FIFA executives who travel around in nice cars and with police escorts but for the millions of supporters wanting to get around South Africa it isn't.
Expect FIFA to do something very soon; this can not go on if South Africa hope to hold this event. |
