Rumours persist that South Africa could lose the 2010 World Cup PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 August 2006

The rumours started up in July and were quickly denied. This time the Sydney Morning Herald is quoting a source as saying it could be moved on.

The article says that a senior international football source informed them that a group of British firms pulled out of tendering for World Cup construction work because of impossible deadlines.

The article is sure to start tongues wagging but we're pretty confident it won't be leaving South Africa, not unless Mr Blatter can come up with a good enough reason. The thing is we don't think that would be very difficult.
