South Africa to launch 2010 World Cup emblem at Germany 2006 PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 08 June 2006

In a first for the World Cup the emblem to be used for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa will be launched during the current World Cup on July 7th in Berlin.

The launch of the emblem will be followed by a concert in the German capital on the same evening and later South Africa will also unveil their African Legacy Program - a new venture in that for the first time a hosting World Cup country will attempt to make the event one of total continental involvement.

Despite all that has gone on and wrong during the build up to 2010 we're convinced that it will be the best yet. Jordaan also revealed that South Africa had so far managed to complete 70% of the contracts including broadcasting rights, sponsorships and other forms of involvement.

Germany might be about to start, and we can't wait, but our focus is still very much South Africa and we'll be following all the news and pointing you in the right direction when the emblem is launched.
