The national parliamentary committee on sport has given the Nelson Mandela Bay double thumbs up for its preparations ahead of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

Butana Khompela, the chairperson of the committee, says the committee has found that the Port Elizabeth (PE) metro is two years ahead when compared with the cities of other countries that have hosted the World Cup. Roland Williams, the metro spokesperson, says they are hoping to be rewarded with more than what they asked for when the applications for funds ahead of the World Cup are made.
