Will David Beckham be in Germany next year? |

We're not asking if England will be in Germany for the tournament next year as that is still to be decided but after Northern Ireland beat England 1-0 tonight the question has to be asked, 'Is David Beckham good enough for the England team?' There is no doubting Beckham has, or had a great free kick and the game against Greece at Old Trafford a few years ago he was magnificent but I, along with some of the British press, just don't think he has it anymore.
The England manager seems to be picking his players based on how much press they get or how much press they can get him. Michael Owen along with Beckham shouldn't be in the team. Playing 4-5-1 against a team that you should beat convincingly is wrong but the manager will stick with his favourites. Now that South Africa are out of the tournament we are going to be following the fortunes of Sweden and England, so come back for more soon and we'll add the match report from the BBC later. |
