Bafana Bafana will ride in style during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa - in a bus donated by Daimler-Chrysler South Africa (DCSA), who on Tuesday announced a stream-lined vehicle sponsorship for the South African Football Association.
The sponsorship entails the loan of nine luxury cars to assist in the organisation of the 2010 World Cup and vehicles from this package deal will be made available to Organising Committee chairpersons Irvin Khoza and CEO Danny Jordaan.
As part of the sponsorship, Daimler-Chrysler will also provide transport for all South Africa's national teams at different age-levels, with Dr Hansgeorg Niefer, chairperson of the managing board of DCSA, declaring the new sponsorship deal was a continuation that started with the support for South Africa's unsuccessful 2006 World Cup bid.
And Safa president Molefi Oliphant revealed that Daimler-Chrysler were also considering sponsoring Safa junior leagues in order to assist in South African soccer's development programme. Source: IOL |
