Danny Jordaan, CEO of the South Africa Local Organising Committee for the FIFA 2010 World Cup has been named the Johannesburg Press Club's 'Newsmaker' of the year for 2004.

Jordaan, would be handed the award in Johannesburg on Thursday, Hopewell Radebe said on Monday.

"As the face of the South African 2010 World Soccer Cup bid committee, Jordaan has led a solid team to win over Fifa's adjudicating committee," Radebe said.
