Talking on Thursday Sepp Blatter said that the FIFA 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa had attracted more media attention than the tournament taking place in Germany next year.

"Tenders for television and marketing rights for the 2010 World Cup show us the market interest is higher than for the World Cup in 2006," Blatter said, who was in South Africa to receive the country's highest civilian honour for foreigners.

"The world trusts the South African and the South African leadership" Blatter said after President Thabo Mbeki conferred the honour.
